Cayamo A Journey Through Song
Miami & Cayamo 2009
Samana DR, St. Thomas USVI, Tortola BVI & Nassau

Sunday, March 1

Spent a quiet morning.  Had breakfast at the Garden Cafe buffet.  This area is huge and has 4 lines, two on either side of the ship.  There is even a kid size buffet area with kid tables and chairs.

Mark was set up to be at the Texas Hold'em tournament so I headed up early to the pool deck to find a place to sit and read a book on my Amazon Kindle until the shows began.  The ship provided a buffet BBQ on the deck so I had some fruit and a dried out pork chop.  The pool deck was very breezy and it was pretty cool under the shade.

I didn't take any photos of the early shows.  I watched Indigo Girls and Brandi Carlile.  It was a very good show but I had a group of girls stand right in front of me so it was hard to actually watch.  After a 30 minute break Webb Wilder began playing.  Mark showed up during his set.

After lunch we headed back to the room to get our evening show tickets for the Indigo Girls.  I wasn't really interested in watching them again so we thought we would head to Dazzles Lounge.  This was the appointed ticket trading area.  We had just walked in and there was a young lady asking if we had tickets the the Indigo Girls show to trade.  We gave them to her and she was just too excited.

We had dinner in the dining room Venetian early and we were able to sit at the windows along the stern of the ship.  Very cool view of the ocean with the ship underway.  The dinner was very good - I remember most the pumpkin & ginger soup but we also had beef Wellington .  There are two main dining rooms Venetian & Aqua, the Garden Cafe buffet, 24 hour Blue Lagoon, Bimini Bar & Grill that are all included in the cost of the cruise.  Plus there are several other restaurants that have surcharges ranging from $10-25.  There are no assigned dining times in freestyle cruising.  You are open to do your own thing.  The dining rooms and cafe opened at 5:30 p.m. for dinner.  Reservations are accepted at the restaurants.  We didn't find the early dining times busy at all and never needed reservations on Cayamo.

That evening we had the opportunity to hang out in the Spinnaker Lounge and watch Ed Roland, Kathleen Edwards, Darrell Scott and ended with Joe Ely.  Mark headed back to the cabin before Ely's show ended but I hung out to the end at midnight.  Other shows began at 12:30 a.m. but not for me.

Kathleen Edwards and her husband Colin Cripps

Darrell Scott - great guitar playing. Wow
